Every organisation experiences peaks of work, unexpected events and other situations where they need an informed and capable extra pair of hands. This is where our interim support and outsourced communications service comes to the fore. We’ve negotiated short-term and ongoing arrangements with several clients to provide extra capacity, maternity cover and specialist input not readily available in-house.
South Devon-based Teign Housing asked us to provide part-time, remote maternity cover for their Communications Officer. When the postholder decided not to return to her role, this became an ongoing, retained contract equivalent to one-day’s off-site support per week, plus quarterly catch-up visits by our head of communications.
We streamlined the organisation’s approach to focus on the service and community issues that mattered most, including campaigns around Universal Credit and digital inclusion, plus graphic design for e-zines, printed publications and housebuilding sites. We helped Teign to achieve a sharper, more consistent and professional feel that raised their profile and did the housing association full justice. We also helped the organisation to handle media attention and local concerns about some difficult and unforeseen events (including a serious gas explosion at one of their properties and development of a new 18-pitch residential site for travellers.
For ARK Consultancy we seconded one of our senior marketing consultants to work with the company two days per week for a period of eight months, including time on site at its head office in Birmingham. We produced content for ARK’s website, blogs, ezines, newsletters, market bulletins and social media, and the Unlock Net Zero hub in partnership with Ocean Media. We also developed campaigns for new product and service launches.
Other clients who’ve taken advantage of our interim and outsourced support include Trent & Dove Housing, Futures Housing Group, whg and Guildford Borough Council. In several cases we’ve been retained to provide ongoing support even after the original reason for our input has passed.
