Trent & Dove is a social housing provider and member of the PlaceShapers’ network. We were commissioned to strategically define their employer identity, brand positioning, and employee value proposition (EVP) to support their ambition to build a compelling workplace; one that strongly attracts and retains employees through a combination of positive culture, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that fosters trust and engagement, whilst also reinforcing their strengthened organisational values.

Our discovery phase involved a multi-faceted approach, including a detailed review of key documents such as corporate plans, strategic initiatives, and the organisation’s existing mission and values. This was complemented direct engagement with stakeholders through leadership interviews, collaborative colleague workshops, and structured feedback sessions.
Using the insights gathered, we went on to develop the emerging themes into three core values and behaviours of People, Purpose and Performance.
To validate the resources generated around colleague identity, we performed a final survey with employees. The results were consistent with outputs from workshops, showing a good level of agreement with the proposed statements at the core of the colleague circle of the EVP wheel.

To fulfil the commission’s objectives, we crafted a comprehensive culture book; a valuable resource for new starters, prospective employees, and current colleagues. This book clarifies Trent & Dove’s identity, detailing their shared goals, collaborative practices, and the elements contributing to their unique workplace. It serves as a clear articulation of their narrative, core values, and key motivators.
We also delivered colleague videos to support the EVP wheel and devised messages and concepts for recruitment. Similar to your brief, we also produced website content for their career site. Our roll out has included assets for the head office, presentations and desktop calendar.
