Since 2017 we’ve provided South Devon-based Teign Housing with outsourced support for all of its strategic communications, campaigns and media relations. We’ve also helped the organisation to develop a sharper tone of voice and trained staff in modern, plain language business writing skills via online video.
Together, we’ve streamlined Teign’s approach to focus on the service and community issues that matter most, including campaigns around Universal Credit and digital inclusion, plus graphic design for ezines, printed publications and housebuilding sites.
Housing is a complex and unpredictable business, so we’ve helped Teign to handle media attention and local concerns about some difficult and unforeseen events (including a serious gas explosion at one of their properties). We proactively engaged with the media and local authority about this incident, while offering reassurance to customers. This approach won widespread public praise and forthright support from the Teign Tenants’ Forum.
Our contract lead provides the service from her home office near Manchester, proving that distance is no barrier to good communications. Teign serves a largely rural and coastal area with a large proportion of older residents, so we’ve helped the association to tailor its strategy, messages and style to suit the local scene and audiences.
