The National Policy Advisory Panel on Gypsy and Traveller Housing is a group of housing providers committed to extending provision and raising standards of this much-needed type of accommodation. They asked us to produce a best practice guide to back a campaign for more and better sites.
The brief was to create an engaging, digital-only guide featuring case studies from member organisations, plus an eye-catching logo for the Panel itself. The co-chairs wanted a crisp, professional look with bright colours and high-quality images to make the guide feel positive, upbeat, credible and authoritative.
We edited the text supplied by De Montfort University for style, consistency and impact. Then our creative studio produced a series of options for the logo and the guide’s concept and layout. The finished document was launched through a joint online event with the Chartered Institute of Housing and National Housing Federation.
The guide had an astonishing impact. The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and Local Government Association circulated it widely, and several councils and housing associations got in touch to seek further help. It also led to involvement in the Scottish Government’s project to inject £20 million into new sites and training for councils.
