Gamification – using digital games to engage people and solve problems – is big news in marketing right now.
Creative Bridge was pleased to be name-checked in the recent Marketing Week article ‘Playing for points and staff attention’, which highlights the benefits of engaging staff through training with gaming.
Orbit Group, one of the country’s largest housing groups, is a keen supporter of gamification. The client approached Creative Bridge to develop a memorable board game that would teach its staff about data protection, and show the seriousness of the topic.
Orbit Group was so pleased with the results that the group subsequently commissioned a Wii controlled version of the board game, where teams compete in a bowling digital game environment with Blockbuster-style questions.
The game is now used as part of a toolkit of training aids, as Orbit Group delivers data protection training and consultancy to housing associations and local authorities across the UK.
